Un Tercer Período Lleno de Logros, Arte y Celebración en el Rochester

Hemos llegado a la última semana del tercer período y nos sentimos profundamente orgullosos de los logros de nuestros estudiantes. Nos alegra compartir con ustedes algunos de ellos:

• Participación en el Festival UNCOLI de Artes Visuales Primaria: Estudiantes de Segundo y Quinto Grado participaron en dicho festival, que se llevó a cabo en el Colegio Andino. Ver sus obras exhibidas en una galería fue una experiencia enriquecedora que fortaleció su creatividad, aprendizajes, autoestima y sentido de pertenencia. ¡Felicitaciones a nuestros talentosos artistas!

• Destacada participación en TESMUN XXI: Hanna Isaza, Daniela Daza y Martina Hernández, estudiantes de 10º grado, se destacaron en este prestigioso Modelo de Naciones Unidas y recibieron merecidos reconocimientos por su sobresaliente desempeño. ¡Bravo!

•Éxito en el Torneo Bogotano de Natación – Apertura 2025: Nuestro equipo de desempeño superior, conformado por 12 talentosos nadadores —Ivory Jade Nazlie, Alejandro Rey, Matías Castro, Leonardo Ospina, Juan David Argüelles, Matías Castellanos, Emilio Jiménez, Paz Muñoz, Luna Muñoz, Tomás Delgado, Alejandro Useche y Diego Medina— obtuvieron una medalla de oro, una de plata y tres de bronce. ¡Felicitaciones por su esfuerzo, compromiso y excelencia!

• Celebración del Pi Day del 14 de Marzo con SUMO BOT: Estudiantes de 11° Grado, del curso de Robótica e Inteligencia Artificial mostraron a la comunidad Rochesteriana sus robots autónomos, demostrando creatividad, habilidades de programación y un gran trabajo en equipo.

• Preparación para la Primera Comunión: Los estudiantes de Tercer Grado, durante este mes de marzo, han reflexionado sobre la Eucaristía y su significado, reconociendo su origen en la Última Cena. Esta experiencia nutrió su salud espiritual, en sintonía con nuestra virtud institucional de salud integral, que promueve el bienestar físico, emocional y espiritual.

• Encuentro con la Naturaleza en la Salida Pedagógica a la Reserva La Laja: Un oso andino fue captado por las cámaras de foto-trampeo instaladas por estudiantes de 11º Grado durante su visita a la Reserva de la Laja. Un emocionante encuentro que celebra la riqueza de nuestra biodiversidad y el compromiso de nuestros jóvenes con la naturaleza y su sostenibilidad.

• Somnium: Yo soñé que…: Toda la comunidad se prepara con entusiasmo para este espectáculo multidisciplinario, que reunirá a 308 participantes en torno al teatro, la danza, la música, las artes visuales y las telas aéreas. Felicitamos especialmente a Nicolás Cortés (11°), autor del nombre y la letra, y a Alicia Rodríguez (10°) y Paula Romero (11°), creadoras de la imagen visual. ¡Los esperamos! Save the Date: Mayo 31 de 2025.

• Presentaciones de Aprendizaje: Tendrán lugar el viernes 28 y sábado 29 de marzo. El viernes, de 10:00 a 11:00 a.m., contaremos con la presentación de María del Sol Peralta y su grupo musical CantaClaro,quienes deleitarán al público de Prejardín a 2° Grado en la auditería, para seguir promoviendo el arte y la cultura en todos nuestros espacios. También tendremos la pre-venta de boletas para nuestro espectáculo de Somnium al frente de la auditería.

• Crazy Shoes Day: El jueves 27 de marzo, los estudiantes saldrán a las 2:00 p.m. e invitamos a toda la comunidad a participar de esta divertida actividad que promueve el respeto por la diferencia y la diversidad.

Que esta semana sea una oportunidad para celebrar, agradecer y sentirnos muy orgullosos de ser parte del Rochester.

We’ve reached the final week of the third academic term, and we are deeply proud of our students’ achievements. We’re excited to share some highlights with you:

• Participation in the UNCOLI Visual Arts Festival (Primary School): Third and Sixth Grade students participated in this festival held at Colegio Andino. Seeing their artwork exhibited in a gallery was an enriching experience that nurtured their creativity, learning, self-esteem, and sense of belonging. Congratulations to our talented young artists!

• Outstanding Participation in TESMUN XXI: Hanna Isaza, Daniela Daza, and Martina Hernández, 11th Grade students, stood out in this prestigious Model United Nations event and received well-deserved recognition for their excellent performance. Bravo!

• Success at the Bogota Swimming Tournament – 2025 Opening: Our high-performance team, composed of 12 talented swimmers—Ivory Jade Nazlie, Alejandro Rey, Matías Castro, Leonardo Ospina, Juan David Arguelles, Matías Castellanos, Emilio Jiménez, Paz Muñoz, Luna Muñoz, Tomás Delgado, Alejandro Useche, and Diego Medina—earned one gold, one silver, and three bronze medals. Congratulations on your effort, commitment, and excellence!

• Pi Day Celebration on March 14 with SUMO BOT: 12th Grade students from the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence course showcased their autonomous robots to the Rochesterian community, demonstrating creativity, programming skills, and strong teamwork.

• First Communion Preparation: Throughout March, Fourth Grade students have been reflecting on the Eucharist and its significance, recognizing its origin in the Last Supper. This experience has nurtured their spiritual health, in line with our institutional virtue of integral well-being, which promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness.

• Nature Encounter during the Field Trip to La Laja Reserve: An Andean bear was captured on a camera trap installed by 12th Grade students during their visit to La Laja Reserve. This thrilling moment celebrates our rich biodiversity and our students’ commitment to nature and sustainability.

• Somnium: I Dreamed That… The entire community is excitedly preparing for this multidisciplinary performance, which will bring together 308 participants across theater, dance, music, visual arts, and aerial silks. Special congratulations to Nicolás Cortés (12th), author of the show’s name and lyrics, and to Alicia Rodríguez (11th) and Paula Romero (12th), creators of the visual identity. We can’t wait to see you there! Save the Date: May 31, 2025.

• Learning Presentations: These will take place on Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29. On Friday, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., we’ll welcome María del Sol Peralta and her musical group CantaClaro to delight audiences from Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd Grade in the Auditería, continuing our mission to promote art and culture in all our spaces. There will also be a pre-sale of tickets for our Somnium performance in front of the Auditería.

• Crazy Shoes Day: On Thursday, March 27, students will be dismissed at 2:00 p.m. We invite the entire community to take part in this fun activity that celebrates respect for difference and diversity.
