Gratitud, Aprendizaje y Liderazgo: Una Semana de Inspiración

Quiero compartir con ustedes que el día de hoy me he reincorporado al colegio. Un agradecimiento a la Familia Aljure León, al Comité Ejecutivo y, en especial, a Miss Sally Torres-Brown por su liderazgo amoroso y profesional.

Iniciamos esta semana con gratitud, celebrando el éxito del International Mother Language Day & Rochester’s Languages Show & Tell Day, realizado el pasado viernes 21 de febrero. Fue una valiosa oportunidad para reconocer el aprendizaje de nuestros estudiantes en las áreas de Inglés, Castellano y Tercer Idioma. Felicitamos especialmente a los 120 estudiantes que compartieron sus experiencias, demostrando CAFE-MU: Confianza, Autoevaluación, Felicidad, Excelencia, Mejoramiento y Utilidad. ¡Enhorabuena! También extendemos nuestro reconocimiento a los docentes de los cuatro idiomas que enseñamos en el colegio y a los Coordinadores Curriculares: Lois Torres-Brown (Inglés y Tercer Idioma), Leonardo Betancourt (Español) y nuestra Directora Académica, María del Pilar Tunarroza. ¡Gracias por su compromiso y por ser parte de nuestra comunidad Rochesteriana!

Asimismo, el jueves 20 de febrero realizamos la entrega de 23 mercados a los estudiantes del programa Inglés para Chía. Agradecemos profundamente la generosidad de todas nuestras familias y el liderazgo de la Fundación Educativa Rochester en la coordinación de este programa, que contribuye a una mayor equidad social.

Recordemos que este viernes 28 de febrero no habrá clases para los estudiantes, ya que el equipo docente y administrativo participará en la Segunda Cumbre de Educadores UNCOLI. Nuestro colegio será uno de los 11 colegios anfitriones y contará con diversas conferencias sobre liderazgo y convivencia. La conferencia inaugural, titulada Liderazgo y Convivencia con Teoría de la Elección, estará a cargo de Juan Pablo Aljure, Presidente de la Junta Directiva.

Que los valores que hemos elegido para este año, respeto, optimismo y gratitud, continúen guiando nuestras acciones diarias.

Warm greetings to you all. I hope you are doing well.

I would like to share with you that today I have returned to school. A heartfelt thank you to Aljure León Family, the Executive Committee and, especially, to Miss Sally Torres-Brown for her loving and professional leadership.

We begin this week with gratitude, celebrating the success of International Mother Language Day & Rochester’s Languages Show & Tell Day, held last Friday, February 21. This event was a valuable opportunity to recognize our students’ learning in English, Spanish, and Third Language courses. We extend our special congratulations to the 120 students who shared their experiences, demonstrating THE-IUS: Trust, Happiness, Excellence, Improvement, Usefulness and Self-evaluation, —well done! We also recognize the dedication of the teachers of the four languages we teach at school, as well as our Curriculum Coordinators: Lois Torres-Brown (English and Third Language), Leonardo Betancourt (Spanish), and our Academic Director, María del Pilar Tunarroza. Thank you for your commitment and for being part of our Rochester community!

Additionally, on Thursday, February 20, we delivered 23 food baskets to students in the English for Chía program. We deeply appreciate the generosity of all our families and the leadership of the Rochester Educational Foundation in coordinating this program, which contributes to greater social equity.

A friendly reminder that this Friday, February 28, there will be no classes for students as our teaching and administrative teams will participate in the Second UNCOLI Educators’ Summit. Our school will be one of the 11 host schools and will feature various conferences on leadership and coexistence. The keynote address, titled “Leadership and Coexistence with Choice Theory,” will be delivered by Juan Pablo Aljure, President of the Board of Directors.
